Comments: this is a considerably better desktop microphone than the inexpensive ones seen in electronics stores. We don't consider this to have the accuracy of our better headset microphones, for those needing to keep their hands and heads free, this is an excellent choice. An alternative microphone to consider is the SpeechWare 6-in-1 microphone.

About the DSP Version: this cutting edge noise filtering system eliminates background noise and yields incredible accuracy, even in noisy environments. This microphone is ideal for users who often work in hectic settings which may produce background noise which can hinder the performance of dictation and speech recognition applications. The only downside in our experience? Cost.

Buddy DesktopMini 7G Microphone

This is a new offerring from InSync Speech Technology and is a simple, very nicely functioning desktop microphone with Filtered Audio technology (to filter out system noise). It is small enough to be easily lifted with your hand and used as a hand-held microphone if you prefer.

Comments: We consider this a fairly priced, "work-horse" microphone. It offers high quality performance with speech recognition software and is built to last. The warranty is excellent, but we think it unlikely you will have problems with it because it is so well built. For even better results, consider purchasing this with the Buddy 7G USB adapter with "Filtered Audio" technology for added external noise rejection and computer compatibility.

Buddy Flamingo Mic 7G

Features:

• It is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems.

Comments: This microphone uses the same high quality element employed in the Buddy Desktop microphone. This microphone attaches directly to a USB port on your notebook and does not mount to your desk. It is intended primarily for use with a notebook computer.

Buddy Gooseneck Mic (Standard and USB Versions)

A 30" Desktop Gooseneck microphone available with or without USB interface. Sensitive microphone can be used from 1" to 6" away from the microphone end. The Buddy Gooseneck microphone includes a metallic clamp, which can be used to attach the mic to a surface up to 2.25" thick.

Comments: This microphone uses the same high quality microphone element as the Buddy Desktop and Buddy Flamingo microphones, and has an integrated USB sound card. The real beauty of this microphone is the long gooseneck, which allows very precise mounting, a quality which may be of particular interest to those with limited mobility. It includes a mechanism for clamping the microphone to a desk or table.

Buddy 7G USB Sound Adapter

This is Insync Speech Technologies' latest and 7th generation USB adapter. The device is designed to replace a computer's on board sound card and is a perfect compliment to a good quality microphone when using speech recognition software. It has many features which go beyond those of it's predecessor, the 6G.

Buddy 6G USB Sound Adapter

This is InSynch Speech Technologies' 6th generation of USB adapter, designed to replace the on-board sound card on your PC or Mac. Outwardly it appears identical to it predecessor, the 5G. The two important differences are:

1. It appears to have a lower noise ceiling, so it will provide better speech to noise ratios when used with Dragon NaturallySpeaking
2. It is compatible with the Sennheiser ME3 Microphone (previously only the monoplex Andrea USB adapter and Monoplex VXI USB adapters were directly compatible with the ME3)

The advantage of this device is that it is compatible with every microphone commonly used with speech recognition software, including the Sennheiser ME3. Like other USB adapters, the prime purpose is to affect the analog to digital conversion outside of your pc and free of potential electrical interference from other pc components.

Buddy Stylus Mic 7G

Buddy StylusMic is a multifunction USB Stylus and microphone combination for tablet PC and convertible laptop computers. The included Stylus supports Wacom Technology for tablet surfaces.

The microphone is noise canceling and especially designed to work with speech recognition applications. The top button acts like a mute button by default. The amber light flashes when the microphone is muted.
